As we welcome the new year, I would like to extend my sincere New Year wishes to all textile workers on behalf of the China Textile Industry Federation!
Moving forward with "new" and achieving "quality," 2024 is a year of new quality. Fields like artificial intelligence are growing rapidly. Technological innovation is creating new industries, models, and momentum. This change is reshaping value logic and organizational forms. In the process of "technological innovation-resource allocation-industrial transformation," new productive forces are helping the textile industry break away from traditional growth patterns. This new phase is characterized by high technology, efficiency, quality, fashion, sustainability, and health.
"Change" strengthens and "reform" renews, making 2024 a year of reforms. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th National Congress has started a new era of deepening reforms. It focuses on economic system reforms, building a unified national market, promoting high-level openness, and establishing a modern economic system. New production relations that fit the new productive forces are being established. The innovation vitality and confidence in the textile and apparel industry are growing, leading to overall development.
We progress along the right path and keep pace with the times. Last year, the textile industry gathered strength, riding the wave of reform to create a bright new chapter and made important contributions to China's modernization.
This year, the industry acted practically and created value. Facing a complex international environment, a technological revolution, and diverse market adjustments, the industry focused on expanding domestic demand, optimizing structure, boosting confidence, and managing risks. Policies were effectively utilized to accelerate industrial transformation and upgrade. High-quality and diverse supplies met the people's needs for a better life, and the industry played a stabilizing role in the economy.
This year, the industry was proactive and opened new avenues. Traditional industries upgraded, and cutting-edge technologies were applied. Innovations in materials, processes, and manufacturing continued. The industry integrated with new energy, healthcare, and space exploration. Trends like emotional value, experiential value, and national culture thrived, with new models and scenarios constantly emerging.
This year, the industry sailed smoothly into international markets. Major brands and experts highlighted China's fashion appeal. With the Belt and Road Initiative, a more diverse and balanced textile trade pattern emerged. From products to brands, from capacity to supply chains, the textile industry entered a "new maritime era." As a key player in the global textile supply chain, China's role in the world textile landscape is becoming stronger.
The old year has unfolded beautifully, and the new year promises more progress. 2025 is the final year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and a key year for planning the "15th Five-Year Plan." We must align our understanding and actions with the overall guidance from the Central Economic Work Conference. We need to build confidence, take initiative, and understand the laws of economic work. We should follow the five "musts" to develop new productive forces and start a new journey.
Aim high. Remember the country's priorities and understand policy directions. With wisdom and responsibility, we can contribute more to China's modernization and meet the people's aspirations for a better life.
Act with purpose. Focus on key issues and tackle real problems. We should balance supply and demand, enhance quality and efficiency, and expand domestic demand. We need to solidify our foundation in stability and open new avenues in progress.
Create an open future. We should diversify our global strategies and explore new ideas. We must grasp the new logic of global cooperation and build a circular, rich, and expansive new development framework. We need to link reality with the future, promoting the integration of technology and industry.
Though the journey is long, we can reach our goals through determination. Let us unite our efforts, innovate while upholding our principles, and push for reforms. With an open mindset, we will shape the future and write a bright chapter in China's modernization.
